A lightning strike started a fire at a two-story, multi-family condo on Gully Branch Lane near North Myrtle Beach in Horry County, according to Julius Graham with Horry County Fire Rescue.
The call came into dispatchers at 4:06 Monday afternoon. When units arrived, they found smoke and flames on the second floor of the structure.
Horry County fire officials say the damage was contained to one unit and that unit was not a total loss.
No one was hurt.
Myrtle Beach firefighters also responded to a possible fire on Cove Drive caused by a lightning strike and when firefighters arrived, there was a smoky haze inside the residence, said spokesman Bruce Arnel.
