Traffic was delayed in the area of Highway 707 and U.S. 17 Bypass in Horry County Thursday morning, according to Bruce Arnel with the Myrtle Beach Fire Department.
Arnel said a power pole caught on fire in the area around 7:20 a.m.
3,350 Santee Cooper customers were left in the dark just before 7:30, according to Mollie Gore with Santee Cooper.
Power was restored around 8:30 a.m.
South Carolina Highway Patrol reported multiple traffic lights out in the area. They are now working again.
Myrtle Beach police officers redirected traffic for about an hour.
Traffic is running smoothly again, according to Captain David Knipes with the Myrtle Beach Police Department.
