The Grand Strand Miracle League held its opening game Wednesday night. It's a league for children and adults with special needs who can play on a specially-equipped field.
One of the coaches, George Gagnon, is there for a special reason.
"My son used to play, and I've dedicated my life to him. He's in heaven now," said Gagnon.
Gagnon's son, Jake, died at the age of five and played in the Miracle League.
Gagnon continues to coach to honor him.
"I'm sure he's looking down here just smiling," said Gagnon.
