The family of a Charlotte man found shot to death in Bennettsville is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in his murder.
Purvis was gunned down on North Everette Street in Bennettsville September 15.
He lives in Charlotte, but grew up in Bennettsville and was in town visiting family and friends when he was killed.
Anthony Quick was one of Purvis' best friends, and he hopes the reward will give investigators the break they need.
"We're a community. This is a tight-knit place right here. And something like this? You got to understand who ever done this is still out there. And if this was one of your loved ones, you would want somebody to come forward. So, we're asking that," said Anthony Quick.
Quick called Purvis a great husband, father, son, brother and friend. He can't understand why anyone would want to see him dead.
"He was a family man," Quick said. "He was a family man, and that's why it's just so hard to believe that somebody would just commit any act whether a person could be a family man, but it's a human being just the same."
Purvis left behind a wife and seven children.
The State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is helping to investigate the murder.
If you have any information, you're asked to call the Bennettsville Police Department at (843) 479-3620.
