Lake City Police say seven stores have been hit with counterfeit $100 bills.

Lieutenant Roger Tilton says they were alerted to the fake money when a clerk at Advanced Auto realized a bill was counterfeit, despite it having passed the pen test.

Tilton says when you hold the bills in the light, the hologram on it shows Abraham Lincoln instead of Benjamin Franklin. Tilton says US Secret service says the bills have the same serial number on them leading them to believe its connected to a counterfeit money ring in the Southeast.

Tilton says there is surveillance video of the suspect wanted in the Advanced Auto incident, but they have yet to identify him. His picture is on this story.
