As part of the Highway 17 Bypass and SC Hwy. 707 Interchange Project, a permanent traffic pattern shift will be constructed for Old Socastee Highway/ Old Railroad Bed Road.
Construction began on Monday.
A cul-de-sac will be constructed on Old Socastee Highway approximately 100' south of the old intersection of Old Railroad Bed Road and Old Socastee Hwy.
This work will eliminate the stop sign on Old Railroad Bed Road at Old Socastee Highway, creating a safer and more functional facility.
There will still be a 4-way stop condition at Fred Nash and Emory intersection.
This project is expected to take three days.
