Aerial Options plans to add 5,000 to 10,000 square feet to its existing building in Mullins and create 13 new jobs with a $410,000 investment, according to a release from the South Carolina Department of Commerce.

The release says the addition of the 13 jobs will effectively double the current number of employees.

Aerial Options is a manufacturer and global supplier of water systems for the aerial fire truck industry.

Currently, the company serves customers in the United States and exports its water systems to clients in Japan, Russia, South Korea, China and throughout Europe.

The announcement comes as employment in Marion County has been trending upward during the past six months. Since February 2013, the county has seen a seven percent decrease in its unemployment rate, although the county still has the highest unemployment rate in the state.
