Escapee now faces new charge

Jeremy Griffin faces escape charges.

Horry County deputies charged the man who escaped from J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

Jeremy Griffin now faces escape. He already faced driving under suspension third or subsequent offense and multiple failure to appear charges.

Griffin jumped over the razor wire fence surrounding the detention center's grounds on July 8 around 10 p.m.

The location where he escaped was a blind spot in J. Reuben's surveillance video.

Deputies arrested Griffin Tuesday in Myrtle Beach.

They also arrested Laqita Bellamy and charged her with interfering with police.
