Drummer accused in assault of church leader

A warrant has been issued for a Myrtle Beach man accused of pushing a church leader at Sandy Grove Church.

Myrtle Beach police were called to the church on Carver Street Wednesday night around 7:00 on a report of an assault.

According to the police report, the victim said he was meeting with the drummer of the church Oscar Alfredo Alston, 24, and with two others.

The victim said he advised Alston that the church would no longer need his services as drummer.

According to the report, Alston got upset and argued with the man saying he knows where he and his family live.

After the victim called police, Alston pushed the man, according to the report.

The victim says he pushed Alston off of him in self defense, then they both fell into a wall.

The church leader was left with a small bruise on his head.

Alston drove off. He is wanted on charges of Assault and Simple Assault.
