Drug operation in Myrtle Beach leads to 10 arrests

Ten people are in jail after a drug interdiction operation in Myrtle Beach.

According to a news release, on August 2, members of the 15th Judicial Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and deputies with the Horry County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) conducted a drug operation near Pine Drive in Myrtle Beach.

Officials say the operation was brought about by complaints from community members regarding illegal drug activity.

Investigators, agents, and deputies executed two arrest warrants--the first on Pine Drive and the second at an apartment in Cape Landing Apartments.

Authorities seized $1,965, three handguns, approximately 2 grams of heroin, 1 gram of crack cocaine, a small indoor marijuana grow with one plant and 363 grams of marijuana.

The drugs seized have an approximate street value of $5,040.

Ten people were arrested:

  • Wayne Jordan Hicks, 19, of Myrtle Beach, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana (first offense), possession with intent to distribute heroin (first offense), and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, first.
  • Jacob Taylor Hicks, 18, of Myrtle Beach, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana (first offense), possession with intent to distribute heroin (first offense), and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, first.
  • Joshua Tyler Hicks, 18, of Myrtle Beach, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana (first offense), possession with intent to distribute heroin (first offense), and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, first.
  • Edward Patrick Kidd, 51, of Myrtle Beach, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana (first offense), possession with intent to distribute heroin (first offense), and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, first.
  • Brandon Michael Long, 36, of Myrtle Beach, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana (first offense), possession with intent to distribute heroin (first offense), and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, first.
  • Carla Michelle Snuggs, 36, of Myrtle Beach, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana (first offense), possession with intent to distribute heroin (second offense), possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, second.
  • Kayli Layne Watts, 18, of Myrtle Beach, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana (first offense), possession with intent to distribute heroin (first offense), possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, first.
  • John Michael Hardwick, 20, of Myrtle Beach, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana (first offense), distribution of marijuana, first, possession with intent to distribute heroin (first offense), possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, first.
  • Parker Kensey Weatherspoon, 17, of Myrtle Beach, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
  • Amber Ray Lees, 18, of Myrtle Beach was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
