Driver dies after crash at Myrtle Beach Speedway
Myrtle Beach, S.C. (WPDE) —
A driver has died after a crash at the Myrtle Beach Speedway.
According to Horry County's Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard, the crash happened around 4:45 p.m.
Willard said a car collided with a wall at the Myrtle Beach Speedway.
The driver, Jackie Ward, 56, of Surfside Beach, was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
Willard said the driver died at the hospital less than an hour later and that his death was not due to the collision.
