A Dillon police officer is in the hospital Sunday after he was involved in a deadly wreck on Highway 9 in Little Rock, according to officials on scene.
South Carolina Highway Patrol says a Mitsubishi collided with the officer's 2010 Ford Crown Victoria.
A passenger in the Mitsubishi died from injuries suffered in the accident, according to SCHP.
The victim has been identified as Bobbi Lynn Britt, 29, of Pembroke, according to Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley.
Three others in the car, including the 22-year-old driver, were taken to hospitals to be treated for their injuries.
The officer's patrol car caught fire during the collision.
Highway Patrol has identified the officer as Jacob Richardson.
Richardson's condition hasn't been released, but we're told his injuries are serious.
South Carolina Highway Patrol's Multi-Disciplinary Investigation Team is investigating the crash.
Richardson was on his way to back up a Dillon County Sheriff's deputy when the accident happened, according to Captain Cliff Arnette with the Dillon County Sheriff's Office.
