Dillon brothers split $1 million lottery prize
Thu, 02 May 2013 18:42:44 GMT —
An agreement between two Dillon brothers made years ago to split any lottery winnings, no matter who buys the ticket, no questions asked, came into play Tuesday night.
The older brother purchased a $1 million Mega Millions® ticket bought from Granny's One Stop on Hwy. 301 in Dillon.
After the older brother told his wife about the ticket, he called his little brother.
"Do you want to go to Columbia to help me pick up a check?" he asked.
They did just that yesterday.
"We're helping Mom first," the brothers said in complete agreement.
The brothers overcame steep odds of 1 in 3.9 million plus to win the $1 million prize.
Granny's One Stop received a commission of $10,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
Their names were not released.
