Deputies seize video gaming machines

Deputies with the Marlboro County Sheriff's Office and South Carolina Law Enforcement Division agents seized seven video gaming machines from four locations in the McColl community Wednesday morning, according to Investigator Brittney English.

He says they confiscated the machines from J's Mini-Mart, The Watering Hole, Just One More Time and a home on Highway 38 North.

Deputies got several complaints from residents about the machines and an investigation began a few weeks ago, according to Marlboro County Sheriff Fred Knight.

At this point, there are no charges.

Knight says this investigation is ongoing and stemmed from the seizure of 50 gaming machines from three businesses in McColl and Clio in January.

Deputies also seized personal computers believed to be used to play internet sweepstakes games.
