Deputies say teen made bomb threat because he was bullied

A 16-year-old Marlboro County High School student is charged with Communicating A Bomb Threat after he wrote a message on the school's bathroom wall Monday about a bomb threat at the school for December 20, according to Lt. Larry Turner with Bennettsville police.

The school's resource officer discovered the message, and his investigation led the the boy's arrest.

The student says he wrote the message because he was constantly bullied and teased, Turner said.

The teenager has been released to the custody of his parents.

A hearing will be held with the SC Department of Juvenile Justice on the teenager's charges in the next couple of weeks
