Deputies release surveillance pictures of murder suspects

The Florence County Sheriff's Office has released three surveillance pictures of two men wanted for the murder and armed robbery of David Jenkins, 48, at a business on Aline Street in Florence Tuesday night.

The pictures were taken from surveillance cameras at the business.

Neighbors heard a gunshot, then saw two men drive away from the store in an older model black Chevrolet pickup, according to Captain Michael Nunn with the Florence County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies blocked off streets in the area as they searched for evidence in the homicide and interviewed potential witnesses.

Jenkins was the father of 17-year old-Jeremiah Jenkins who was killed by gang members in August 2008, according to von Lutcken.

Jenkins family says they never imagined they would be going through such a tragedy again.

"I started screaming no. I said' no he's not dead. I began to start crying. It just was a real shock to all of us," said Sadie Brockington.

Sadie Brockington says Jenkins moved to Timmonsville more than 20 years ago after leaving the Army. She says he was like a son to her and he and his wife went through so much with the death of their son, Jeremiah.

She says she can only imagine the pain Jenkins

wife is going through with enduring another murder in her family.

"I'm sure it's probably going to tear Vonne(wife) down for a while. Because she has been going through a lot. It won't be easy on any of us," explained Brockington.

She says they were all just together for the Thanksgiving holiday.

If you recognize the men in the surveillance pictures, you're asked to call the Florence County Sheriff's Office at (843) 665-2121, ext. 367 or Crime Stoppers of the Pee Dee at 1-888-CRIMESC.
