Deputies investigating murder of store clerk, 15th homicide in Robeson County this year

The murder of a store clerk Tuesday night in Robeson County marked the 15th homicide in the county so far this year, according to Major Anthony Thompson.

There were a total of 17 murders in the county last year.

Robert Williamson, 28, was shot and killed Tuesday at BB's Quick Stop located on NC 130 Hwy East at Yukon Drive in Fairmont.

Thompson said witnesses gave deputies a description of the car connected to the person or people involved in the killing.

An officer spotted the car and saw people inside throwing weapons out of the window.

The car stopped and two men ran out of the car into a house.

Deputies arrested three suspects, including a 16 year old boy.

They're each charged with Murder First Degree, Robbery With a Firearm and Possessing Stolen Goods.

The suspects are being held at the Robeson County Detention Center without bond.
