One person has died after a wreck on Highway 90 near Highway 57 in Longs early Sunday morning, according to the South Carolina Department of Public Safety.
A 20-year-old driving a 1999 Toyota four door was transported to the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
A person driving a 2013 Chevy Cruze was pronounced dead on scene and was wearing a seat belt, according to the SCDPS.
Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard identified that driver as Crystal Grizzard, 27, of Little River.
SCDPS added that the driver of the Toyota crossed over into the westbound lanes of Highway 90 and collided head on with the driver in the Chevy Cruze.
The wreck happened at around 6:15 a.m. near North Myrtle Beach Christian School.
The incident is under investigation.
The coroner originally told WPDE NewsChannel 15 that two people had died in the wreck but at this time, only one person was pronounced dead. This story has since been updated to reflect the correct information.
