84-year-old Marion woman, dog killed in house fire
Marion, S.C. (WPDE) —
A house on Simmons Street in Marion County caught fire in Sunday afternoon and resulted in the death of an 84-year-old woman, according to Marion County Coroner Jerry Richardson.
Pat Posch, 84, was killed in the blaze and the Marion City Fire Department is still looking into what led to the deadly fire.
Her dog was also found barely breathing under a bed, according to Marion Fire Trey Cooper.
Cooper said they used pet masks to administer CPR, but couldn’t revive the dog.
He added an autopsy is being done on Posch’s body to determine an exact cause of death.
The State Law Enforcement Division is helping in the investigation.
