Dead Dog Saloon commemorates 9/11

Dead Dog Saloon in Murrells Inlet held its 10th Annual 9/11 Benefit in honor of the men and women who lost their lives 10 years ago today. The theme of this year's fundraiser was "Honoring America's Heroes" and around 2,000 people came out to show their support.

Doors opened at 10 a.m. and the live music started at 11 a.m.

There was free "all-american" food all day. The Saloon provided live entertainment from more than a dozen of the Grand Strand's finest bands, including; The Mullets, The Necessary Band, Band on the Rum, Act II, Paul Grimshaw, Nick Andolora, Scoot Pittman, The Josh Brannon Band, Painted Man and more.

The event featured many prize giveaways, an auction and a 50/50 raffle that will benefit the Georgetown Sheriff's Office "Shop with Santa Program" and Horry/Georgetown counties' Fire and Life Safety Expo.

At 1:00 p.m, the Saloon held a formal memorial ceremony for the victims of 9/11.
