Darlington woman charged with sexual exploitation of a minor
DARLINGTON, S.C. (WPDE) - A 43-year-old Darlington woman was arrested Wednesday by special victims unit investigators and charged with second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to a news release.
Charlene Lynn Hammons, of Darlington, faces between two and 10 years imprisonment if convicted.
Her charges come after, on Feb. 13, SVU investigators were notified by Cabarrus County sheriff’s investigators, from North Carolina, of an alleged sexual assault of a minor that took place in their area that was captured on video, according to the release.
A joint investigation led to allegations that Hammons possessed video of the assault.
She was taken into custody at the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office without incident.
Police say this case remains under investigation.
