Nelson McDaniel, 21, is on trial this week for the May 2012 murder of Lee Jackson, Jr., according to the Darlington County Clerk of Court Office.
The Darlington County Sheriff's Office said previously that McDaniel and Jackson were arguing at a baseball field on Centerville Road in Darlington on May 19, 2012, when McDaniel pulled a gun from his waistband and shot Jackson.
Deputies said that McDaniel then went to his car, got a rifle and fired more shots in the air.
McDaniel's attorney Steven Deberry has said his client shot Jackson in self-defense.
Court officials say the trial is expected to wrap up Thursday.
We will let you know when the jury reaches a verdict.
