Charles Winston Gasque II, 37, of Longs, is charged with Cruelty to Children and Reckless Driving after a road rage altercation at Harrelson Boulevard and the Highway 17 Bypass Sunday.

Gasque was weaving through traffic, following two cars too closely, when the driver of one of those cars "flipped him the bird," according to the police report.

Gasque and the driver pulled over on the side of the road and began fighting. Family members and a cab driver that had stopped to help, broke up the fight.

During the fight, Gasque left his 8-year-old son in his truck alone, police said.
