Crews responded to a house fire in Myrtle Beach Tuesday evening. (WPDE)

Crews are responding to a house fire in Myrtle Beach Tuesday evening.

According to Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue's Jonathan Evans, a fire has been reported at 209 26th Avenue South.

Evans said fire crews believe the fire started in the kitchen.

As of 6:25 p.m., he said the fire was still active and the structure was 75 percent involved.

At 6:40 p.m., MBFR tweeted that the fire had been designated under control.

Residents and visitors are asked to avoid the area if possible.

Fire officials say crews will remain on scene for the next few hours.
