April Dixon, 23, has been moved from the Darlington County Detention Center, where her boyfriend is also being held, to the Florence County Detention Center, according to Captain Andy Locklair with the a Darlington County Sheriff's Office.
"We felt it better to keep communication down between the two while the investigation is going on," Locklair said.
Dixon and her boyfriend Timothy Sanders, 40, are charged with Murder and Conspiracy in the death of Dixon's daughter 21-month-old Madison Dolford.
The toddler was shot to death at a home on Belle Avenue in Hartsville on December 2.
Police say Dixon and Sanders conspired to kill the child October 2.
Prosecutors are waiting on DNA results to determine if Sanders is the child's father. They say Dolford's paternity is needed because it may further establish a motive.
Sanders and Dixon are expected to undergo mental evaluations. Prosecutors aren't saying why the evaluations are relevant to the investigation.
