Couple charged for leaving kids in hot car

Maxine Brown, 58, and Prince Wilson, 57, are charged with Cruelty to Children

Maxine Brown, 58, and Prince Wilson, 57, both of Hemingway, were arrested Wednesday for leaving two children, ages 7 and 11, alone in a hot vehicle for more than an hour while they played video poker machines in a convenience store on Third Loop Road in Florence County.

Each face one charge of Cruelty to Children.

Under South Carolina law, Cruelty to Children is a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than 30 days or a fine of not more than $200 at the discretion of the magistrate.
