A pregnant woman and her infant daughter died as a result of a shooting Sunday evening in Myrtle Beach, according to the Horry County Coroner's Office.

Around 7 p.m. Sunday, Myrtle Beach police responded to a shooting near the Spivey Apartments.

An incident report states that responding officers found a white car that had collided with a light pole in Futrell Park.

When walking up the vehicle, the officer said there was a person in the backseat who had a gunshot wound, according to the report.

But, police said two victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.

On Monday, Capt. Joey Crosby said the incident was under investigation as a homicide.

Later Monday, the Horry County Coroner's Office clarified the number of victims.

According to Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden, a pregnant woman was shot during the incident.

The woman died as a result of the gunshot wound. Her then-unborn child was delivered, but did not survive.

The woman was identified as Jadasia Myers, 22, of Myrtle Beach, and the infant was identified as Harmony.

Myrtle Beach police continue to investigate the incident.
