Conway National Bank robbed in Pawleys Island

The Conway National Bank at 10608 Ocean Highway in Pawleys Island was robbed Friday around 10:30 a.m.

The robber demanded money, ran out the front door, and left on foot traveling south toward North Causeway.

The robber presented what appeared to be a handgun, according to Carrie Cuthbertson, spokesperson for Georgetown County.

The robber is described as a man in his late 30's - early 40's, with short grey hair. He was wearing a black leather jacket, with military cargo pants and a black baseball cap with "police" written on it.

No one was hurt in the robbery.

Georgetown County sheriff's deputies used the agency's bloodhound tracking team to search. The team tracked to an area where the trail was lost.
