Danny Dewayne Hardee, 25, of Conway has been sentenced to serve seven years in prison and three additional years probation for a sexual relationship with a young girl, according to the Horry County Solicitor's Office.
On June 28, 2011, a 12-year-old girl from Conway ran away from home.
While investigating, police suspected Hardee was involved.
Officers discovered Hardee helped the girl run away from home and engaged in an illegal sexual relationship with her.
The 12-year-old was found the next day on June 29 near Highway 22 and Robert Edge Parkway in North Myrtle Beach with Hardee.
Thursday in Conway, Hardee plead guilty to Criminal Sexual Conduct With a Minor in the Second Degree.
Circuit Court Judge Larry B. Hyman, Jr., handed down his sentence.
Hardee will not be eligible for parole or any sort of early release on his seven-year sentence until he has served at least 85 percent of those seven years.
He will be permanently placed on the South Carolina and National Sex Offender Registries.
