Construction starts on Marsh Villas destroyed by fire during Hurricane Matthew
North Myrtle Beach, S.C. (WPDE) —
Construction has started on a Cherry Grove condo complex that burned down in the middle of Hurricane Matthew.
The Marsh Villas was one of six buildings destroyed on Ocean Boulevard.
A massive fire broke out on Saturday night during the October 2016 storm. Much of the area had evacuated and no one was hurt.
Multiple homes have been rebuilt on the ocean side.
Dozens of condo owners had been working together to try to organize the rebuild of the Marsh Villas.
Construction is expected to be done mid-August, according to the HOA president.
