Connecticut man dies from drowning in Myrtle Beach

A man who was pulled from the ocean Sunday has died from complications of drowning, according to Horry County Coroner Robert Edge.

Edge says the man has been identified as Gregory Hamby, 52, of Norwich, Connecticut.

Hamby was pulled from the ocean Sunday around 77th Avenue North in Myrtle Beach. Edge says Hamby was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead on Monday at 1:15 p.m.
