Congressman Tom Rice hosted a 7th district economic resource forum Thursday in Florence to discuss local businesses and entrepreneurs working together to create jobs, attract new business, and improving economic growth in the region.
"As we strive to lead in economic development, it is important for us to come together to share best practices and discuss ways we can make our respective communities more competitive," Rice said.
Rice, along with University of South Carolina's Office of Economic Engagement Executive Director Bill Kirkland, and Palmetto College Chancellor Dr. Susan Elkins will deliver remarks.
"I feel like our district has been overlooked, in terms of investment for decades and I'm working very hard to correct that," Rice stated.
Rice also said is working hard on the Georgetown port and the I-73 effort, to help attract more industries to the area.
