Concern rising over missing Hartsville man

The Darlington County Sheriff's Office needs help in finding Boyd Timothy "Timmy" Clanton, who is missing from the Hartsville area of Darlington County.

Clanton left his home in Hartsville at approximately 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28, on the way to McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. He never arrived at the hospital.

Clanton was last seen driving a 2011 red Ford Ranger pickup truck, with SC license plate number EDX 251.

Investigators have gone through bank records, cell phone records, and still do not have any information where Clanton could be. Officials have driven every route through Darlington County that would be taken to McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.

"This is outside the norm for Mr. Clanton. We are drawing more concerned the longer the investigation goes without any contact with him," said Sheriff Wayne Byrd, "The obstacles in the case are that we do not have a good starting point."

Clanton had not reported any medical issues with a doctor. Clanton is an avid fisherman but did not take any of his fishing tackle on the day he went missing.

Clanton, 59, is a white male. He is 5'5" inches tall and weighs 140 pounds.

Anyone who sees or makes contact with Mr. Clanton, or has any knowledge of his whereabouts, is asked to contact the Darlington County Sheriff's Office immediately. Contact numbers are 843.398.4920 or 843.398.4501.
