Coast RTA and more than 25 volunteers teamed up Saturday to help those in need in their eighth annual Coats for Kids drive.
The drive was held at the Canal Street Recreation Center in Myrtle Beach.
More than 600 gently used coats, blankets, gloves and sweaters were donated for kids and adults in need.
Organizers said the items are donated by businesses and people in the community.
"Coats for Kids day is like Christmas morning. You wake up, you get a brand new coat, or even if it's not brand new just gently used. It makes me just so happy just to see a kid with a coat on," explained Coats for Kids Coordinator Ericka Hill.
Hill added that if you missed the event but are still in need of a coat or would like to donate one, you can call her directly at 843-488-6063.
