Clerk robbed at Pawleys Island motel

The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery at the Motel 6 on Ocean Highway in Pawleys Island.

Deputies say around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, a man walked into the motel and handed the clerk a note demanding money.

The suspect did not show a weapon and fled the scene in a gray Toyota Corolla. He was wearing light blue shorts, a white hooded sweatshirt, a black beanie hat and sunglasses.

The clerk was not injured.
