Classes cancelled after threat made against teacher's life

Florence police are investigating a threat against a teacher's life at Florence Darlington Technical College's Health Sciences campus on Cheves Street Tuesday morning.

Communications Director Clay Williams issued this statement on the incident:

"Our Health Sciences Campus received a telephone threat about 7:45 am. Dr. Ben Dillard decided to cancel classes for today at the HSC. We will have beefed up security tomorrow as well as additional presence from the Florence Police when classes resume tomorrow."

Police say they're following all leads in an effort to develop a suspect.
