Child bitten while boogie boarding in North Myrtle Beach

A 7-year-old boy from Belton, SC sustained bites to his feet while boogie boarding in about two feet of water in the ocean off 6th Avenue South in North Myrtle Beach around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

According to city spokesman Pat Dowling, the boy sustained three lacerations on his left foot and one laceration on his right foot.

It is not clear what bit the boy, who was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment of the bites.
