Ronald Lynn Douglass, 57, of Cheraw has been arrested on child pornography charges and faces 12 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor Second Degree, according to South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson.
The Attorney General's Office, which supervises the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, made the arrest.
The ICAC Task Force received a referral from investigators at the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office that images depicting children engaged in sexual activity were disseminated from an account traced to Douglass.
A search warrant was executed on Friday. Officials seized a computer and other media equipment.
Wilson said Douglass admitted searching for and downloading child pornography. He was taken to the Chesterfield County Detention Center.
Douglass faces up to ten years in prison on each count if he is convicted.
The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
