CCU trustee arrested for DUI

Conway police charged Larry Lee Biddle with Driving Under the Influence around midnight Sunday.

Someone called police to report a reckless driver. They said the car crossed over the center line many times and almost hit another car a couple of times.

Police saw the car matching the description and tag number pull into a driveway. They say Biddle then got out of the car.

The officer performed a field sobriety test and arrested Biddle for DUI.

Biddle is the Secretary/Treasurer for the Coastal Carolina University Board of Trustees. He service on the Academic & Student Affairs Committee, Athletics Committee, and Executive Committee.

A statement was released Monday afternoon by Mr. D. Wyatt Henderson, Chairman of the Board of Trustees:

"It has come to the attention of the Coastal Carolina Board of Trustees that an incident occurred Sunday morning with trustee Larry Biddle. Larry is a respected member of the Board of Trustees and the Horry County community. The Board considers this matter a personal issue that will be handled privately and does not constitute action by the Board. There will be no further official statement by the Board of Trustees on this matter."
