Police arrested Wilson Beaver, 32 of Myrtle Beach on eleven counts of forgery and five counts of embezzlement.
Beaver is in his tenth season as football equipment coordinator at Coastal Carolina University, according to the CCU website.The University plans to release a statement shortly.
The university released this statement Friday afternoon:
"Wilson A. Beaver, a football equipment coordinator at Coastal Carolina University, was arrested on Friday, Dec. 9, following an internal university investigation. Irregularities were discovered through the university's standard financial operating procedures. A joint investigation by the CCU Department of Public Safety and the Office of Finance and Administration ensued, and the information gathered was turned over to the proper authorities. An arrest was subsequently made by CCU's Department of Public Safety. The University is unable to comment on his employment status at this time."
