Two cars and a truck crashed on the high rise bridge on Highway 544 in Socastee just before 6 a.m. Friday, according to Horry County Fire Rescue's Brian VanAernem.
There was one person in each vehicle, VanAernem said. Two were taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. The other was OK.
The most serious injuries were to the driver of the truck. Crews had to use heavy rescue equipment to free him from the truck.
Highway Patrol spokesman Sonny Collins is reporting there are icy patches on that bridge, as well as many others in the area.
The bridge was shut down in both directions Friday morning.
