Traffic in the Carolina Forest area could soon flow a lot smoother now that Horry County plans to install turn lanes along Carolina Forest Boulevard at Southgate Parkway and Stoney Falls Boulevard as well as the entrance to the Carolina Forest Library and Recreation Centers.
Horry County spokeswoman Lisa Bourcier says bids for the project will go out Thursday and are due back June 10.
The project is estimated to cost roughly $1 million with funds coming from the Connector Road Program and voluntary developer contributions.
Bourcier says the environmental permit required for improvements to the Avalon intersection were approved and received last week.
She added that once contracts are finalized and signed, the project should take about four months to complete.
