Car crashes into Little River pizza restaurant

Customers at a Little River pizza place got quite a surprise Thursday when a SUV came crashing into the entrance.

It happened just after 5 at the Little River House of Pizza.

Witnesses say a woman accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake and went crashing into the business.

"It sounded like an explosion at first. I saw the glass shatter on the doors and I thought it was an explosion then I saw the car come through and there was some customers sitting in the booth there so it just barely touched them. I'm just glad they are okay, but it was very scary," said witness Crystal Muse.

Owner Tom Liakos said the restaurant was not very busy at the time and no one was hurt.

He said the business will be closed for a few days but will re-open next week.
