Judge Belinda Timmons set a $15,000 bond for Tyrone Cornelius Williams, 38 , who was shot by a Florence County sheriff's deputy last week after pointing a gun at the deputy, according to Captain Michael Nunn, with the Florence County Sheriff's Office.
Williams must wear an electronic monitoring device , and he can't leave his home after 9 p.m.
Williams has been charged with Possession of Controlled Substance, Pointing and Presenting a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Operating an Unsafe Vehicle, Failure to Stop for Blue Light, and Driving Under Suspension.
An officer tried to stop Williams for a traffic violation at Alligator Road and Whippoorwill Road , when he kept going and led deputies on a car chase into the woods, Nunn said.
In order to protect his own life and do what was consistent with his training, the deputy shot Williams, according to Nunn.
Williams was released from the hospital Wednesday and taken to the Florence County Detention Center.
