Bomb threat evacuates Conway Middle and High Schools

Conway Middle School and Conway High School were evacuated Tuesday because of a bomb threat.

Some students were in the process of being dropped off at Conway Middle School when the threat came in about 7:45 a.m.

Students were told to stay on the bus.

Students that were on campus were taken to buses, along with teachers.

Conway police and Horry County police swept the school and did not find anything.

Parents have reported that the students' cell phones were confiscated. Britton said she had not heard that, but school faculty and staff do have the authority to take the phones if they're being problematic.

About 11 a.m., Conway police responded to Conway High School for another bomb threat.

The school was put on lock down and police searched the building. Again, they did not find anything.
