Boil water advisory lifted in Georgetown

The boil water advisory in the City of Georgetown was lifted Wednesday evening.

The advisory went into effect Tuesday when a major line broke in the distribution system that resulted in a loss of pressure.

There were concerns about possible contamination, so residents in the city were asked to boil their water before drinking or cooking.

The City of Georgetown Water Department says the water was tested and the results were favorable, so the boil water advisory was rescinded.
