Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler said the family of the 32-year-old Myrtle Beach found dead in the parking lot of the Chick-fil-A restaurant on Mr. Joe White Avenue have asked him not to release the man's identity because he likely died of natural causes.
Fowler said a Chick-fil-A employee found the man in his Chevy Avalanche after store employees noticed the car had been parked for some time.
On Tuesday, the man ordered food through the drive-thru, parked his car to eat his food and died in his car, said Fowler.
An autopsy is expected to be completed in 90-120 days, said Fowler.
County police requested the help of Myrtle Beach police about 2:18 p.m Wednesday.
Myrtle Beach Police Lt. Doug Furlong says a person was reported missing in Horry County yesterday. County police say they are investigating a missing person. But they have not said if the cases are related.
Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler said no foul play is suspected in the man's death.
