A traveling exhibit honoring legendary entertainer, Bob Hope, is making it's way through the North Myrtle Beach area.

The exhibit is called Bob Hope: An American Treasure and it's on display at the North Myrtle Beach Area Historical Museum.

As a singer, dancer, athlete and comedian, Bob Hope has done it all.

"It's really pretty interesting to see how one man's life can encompass so many different aspects of the world we know," said Jenean Todd, North Myrtle Beach Area Historical Museum.

It's the first time on the East Coast for the detailed display.

"Personally I'm excited to have the exhibit because it puts the North Myrtle Beach Area Historical Museum on the map and in competition with some of these larger venues," said Todd.

A lot of locals and tourists have already visited the exhibit at the museum.

"More than anything, the exhibit is helping people recall a time in their lives when they might of been happier," said Todd. "They might have had different memories than they have now, and it just brings back a whole 'nother part of their lives."

Grant awards covered the bulk of the cost of bringing the Bob Hope exhibit to the North Myrtle Beach Area Historical Museum.

It will be there through the end of August.
