The City of Florence is hosting a housewarming party Friday evening at 5:30 to celebrate two new projects in downtown Florence in the Roy Adams Breezeway located in the 100 block of West Evans Street, according to a news release.

The projects include the Emerson apartment complex, an 83 unit complex on the corner of South Irby and Cheves Streets that's now at 70 percent occupancy.

The other project is the Kress Corner at the intersection of West Evans and North Dargan streets. It includes 16 loft apartments that are ready for move-in.

People will be able to tour all of the apartments during the party.

A complimentary craft cocktail will be provided at each of the apartment complexes during the tour.

The band Sideswiped will provide entertainment in the breezeway throughout the evening. Sideswiped is a Florence based band known for 90’s rock and current hits and has been the opening act for Lynyrd Skynyrd, Sugarland, Steppenwolf, Rehab, Big and Rich and more.

Door prizes and free gift cards will be given out.

Admission to the party is free, and food, beer, wine and soft drinks will be available for purchase.
