School will be back in session for students across the Grand Strand and Pee Dee in the next couple of weeks.
For some families it's a difficult time, because it's tough to afford all the supplies needed for kids as they head back to class.
Assistance was available for children Saturday in Pamplico, Bennettsville, and Marion.
The New Deliverance Outreach Ministry in Pamplico sponsored a Back to School bash where they provided school supplies, health screenings and activities for families.
Marlboro County held a Back to School Rally at Woodland Park in Bennettsville.
One of the organizers, Jamane Watson said they prepared to help 200 kids. "I hope we run out," Watson said. "We can easily go to the store and get more."
Chris Driggers is a father of a first grader who received a bag full of supplies Saturday. He says this event was much more than just the supplies.
"Him getting pencils and stuff he needs for school, it helps, because everything, it helps a lot cause it's things they're going to need, you know some people are struggling more than others," said Driggers.
In Marion, over 800 children received a goodie bag filled with school supplies at Pop Dorsey Park.
Organizers say they are still in dire need of school supplies.
